About the Committee

The Historical Crisis Committee (HCC) is a specialised crisis-based committee that enables delegates to take on the roles of influential historical figures and revisit defining global events. Unlike conventional MUN committees, HCC operates without standard parliamentary procedure. Instead, it follows a dynamic format shaped by continuous crisis updates, directives, and moderated negotiations. Delegates are assigned specific political or military portfolios and are expected to make decisions that can dramatically shift the course of events. At JBCN Oshiwara MUN 2025, the HCC will revisit the aftermath of the Pearl Harbour attacks and the looming threat of Nazi Germany, with a particular emphasis on Operation Barbarossa.

By simulating intense historical scenarios, the HCC challenges participants to respond with strategy, diplomacy, and critical thinking. Set against the backdrop of World War II, delegates will be placed in a divided global environment, navigating shifting alliances, ideological divides, and rapidly evolving military operations. From intelligence and defence planning to propaganda and diplomacy, participants must act swiftly and cohesively to shape wartime decisions. As history hangs in the balance, delegates will be expected to analyse the global implications of Axis aggression while crafting high-stakes responses that could change the tide of the war.
